The beach state of Goa has been declared a green zone after the last covid patient tested negative for the disease.
Many engineering students who have been waiting for the news were ecstatic. Since the lockdown was announced, many engineering rued the fact that Goa was off limits for them.
“It’s been almost a month since lockdown and the fact that we wouldn’t get a chance to cancel our Goa trip got us worried. It is like a ritual for us to make plans that don’t work out. In fact, most of our discussion these days is around how many times our plan has failed and who chickened out at the last moment,” said Ranjith PK, a final year engineering student from Bengaluru.
For many, the love affair started after watching Dil Chahta Hai, making plans to Goa is like a ritual.
Preparation starts six months in advance, when almost everyone is excited to be part of the trip.
“We use charts, graphs and presentation while chalking out a strategy. Which beaches and restaurants to visit and what to eat and drink. Everything is discussed to the last detail. I had all planned out this year as well. It was the lockdown that messed up everything. But now with the state declared Covid free, we can get back to our planning and strategy,” remarked another student, who wished to remain anonymous.
