Housing complex to have dedicated fighting areas for members to fight over parking space

Concerned about the rising number of fights for parking spaces, Govt has now proposed separate fighting areas in housing complex to tide over the issue. According to a report by Ministry of Urban Development there has been a 300% increase in parking related fights in New Delhi alone. The statistics in other metros too are alarming.

Speaking to Faking News a senior official from Housing Development Ministry said, “We have received complaints from many citizens regarding parking related fights which is causing a lot of inconvenience. So we have not asked all housing societies to allocate separate areas for members who wish to fight over parking.”

“In the first phase we will cover metro cities and the later on we’ll expand it to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities,” he added.

Sources reveal that these ‘Fighting Areas’ will also have accessories such as boxing gloves along with a referee who will facilitate the fight.

The news brought relief to residents of Mayflower complex in South Delhi who have been witnessing fights for over a year now. “Each day there’s someone or the other fighting over a wrongly parked car. Sometimes these fights take place in the passage making it difficult for others to move around. But now with these Fighting Areas, all that will be taken care of,” said Dilpreet Dhillon, a businessman.

In another part of the city, arrangements are already in place to invite Union Minister Venkkaiah Naidu to inaugurate once such fight area in a residential complex. The minister is also expected to take part in a mock boxing match as part of the inauguration.
