Mumbai: ‘Marwari’, the ethnic label is subjective and often used as a slur that defines the businessmen as the ‘outsider’, the ‘other’ who is swindling you, as they do not share community ties of language and local identity. There are many jokes on the community for their obsession with doing business and also to save money. Some examples are so weird that they are unbelievable. And we found one such incident yesterday when a Marwaari guy refused to pay hospital bill of 7-month old son. The story is of Dinesh Sharma who resides in Munbai. Dinesh had a son born 7 months back but as his son felt ill he had to be hospitalized and so there was a bill generated by the concerned hospital for the service and medicines provided. It was expected that Dinesh would pay up the bill as soon as possible, but he demanded an apology from the hospital. According to Dinesh, every kid should be allowed a warranty period of 1 year in the hospital he was born in. And for him the rule is implicit, and all hospitals should follow the same. On being repeatedly told that there is no such rule, Dinesh started protesting by calling up other people of his community.

There is police, local leaders, and even his neighbors involved in the process of convincing Dinesh to pay up the bill. Faking News will bring you all updates on the latest happenings of this story. Stay tuned.
