Following Supreme Court verdict on bursting of firecrackers during Diwali, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has decided to make and sell ‘environmentally friendly’ Patanjali firecrackers. These firecrackers will be less noisy and less polluting than regular firecrackers.
A spokesperson for the company revealed that instead of chemicals that are harmful to health, Patanjali crackers will be manufactured from natural ingredients. With SC’s insistence on green Diwali, the company believes Patanjali firecrackers will be a better alternative to traditional fireworks. Going by the tagline of ‘poorna swadesi patakhe‘, Patanjali also aims to take Chinese firecrackers head on.
While speaking to mediapersons, Baba said, “Hamare desh mein Diwali pe patakhe jalane ki parampara hai. Lekin lagbhag 70 pratishat patakhe China se aate hai. Inme haanikarak chemical ityadi bhi hote hain. Isliye humne Patanjali patahkhon ka utapadan shuru kiya hai. Ye dhwani pradhushan nahi failayenge aur pariyavaran ko bhi nuksan nahi hoga.”
Baba has also said that these crackers will almost half the price of regular ones so that people don’t feel like they are burning money. “Some of these crackers are so herbal that you can even eat them,” said a spokesperson.
The company plans to have a grand firecracker show on Ramlila Maidan before Diwali to showcase its range of herbal fireworks.
