Mumbai: Taking cognizance of increasing stress levels among animals due to the festival season ahead, Maharshtra Govt. has decided to provide counseling to animals in an effort to address this issue.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is spearheading this initiative, which he says is one of a kind and not yet seen anywhere else in the world.

Speaking to Faking News, a source close to the development said, “The second half of the year is filled with festivals belonging to different religions. Festivals are important as they bring people together, but we don’t want to give an impression that we are alienating animals and are insensitive to their needs. A couple of stray dogs and goats had met the CM last week at his bungalow and expressed their trepidation. So, our CM has come up with the idea to counsel animals, birds and marine life to ease their anxiety.”

A stray dog that was part of the group that met the CM spoke to our reporter. He said, “I am not against any festival, it’s just the decibel levels that needs to be checked. In fact I look forward to the festival, because humans put forth their best behavior. They may behave like assholes for the rest of the year, but during festival time it’s a sudden transformation.”

Our reporter also visited one such counseling center to get a firsthand account of the nature of sessions and their effectiveness. “Before attending this session I was suffering from anxiety pangs. But the wonderful people who conducted the session convinced me that I had lived my life to the fullest. Now I am actually looking forward to Kurbani,” said a goat.

“Besides group activities, we are showing them clips of Arnabs News hour debate so that they get accustomed to the noise levels,” said a member of the team that was conducting the counseling.

Meanwhile, a group that calls itself Akhil Bhartiya Yuva Janvar Sena, has proposed that animals too adopt a religion. “Of all the creations of God, only humans have religion. Why are we being left out? questioned the vocal chief of Janvar Sena.
