Chennai. It was started as a normal Sunday in Chennai for Mr. and Mrs. Srinivasan, but even in their wildest dreams they wouldn’t have imagined that they would become celebrities overnight.

Mrs.Chitra Srinivasan (55) a devoted home maker, successfully tried and completed the “Hyderabadi Veg Biryani” aired on TV last evening.

In an exclusive interview to Faking News she said that she couldn’t believe that she broke the jinx by cooking the dish completely and accurately and created history. “Am I really the first in the country to do so?” she asked us innocently.

Mr. Srinivasan is one happy man. The 60 year old recently retired Manager of Indian Bank gave me a big smile as he said, “I’ve unofficially become her manager now!” he joked! He has been flooded with congratulatory messages from friends, relatives and giving dates to the media for interviews since his wife achieved the feat.

“It would be a war-like scene at home every time there is a cookery show and a cricket match going on simultaneously. I’m a great fan of test cricket,” said self confessed Krish Srikanth fan.

The living room was flooded with books collecting dust, which were apparently collection of recipes noted down by her, some dairies even dated back to 1980s. “I’ve been compiling an archive of recipes since my premarital days” she said.

Mr.Srinivasan recalled a cute incident, initially reluctant to the match, he apparently gave yes instantly after having a sip of Chitra’s filter coffee.

“I was floored, it was a moment of ecstasy,” and after a brief pause he leaned closer to me and whispered, “but then never knew that was the only nice thing she could cook well! I was tricked into this!” His wife responded quickly by saying “It is this sense of humor which keeps me going!!”

She attributed her success to celebrity chefs Mallika Badrinath, Sanjay Kapoor and called the legendary “Samaithu Parungal” Meenakshi Ammal as her childhood idol. “You forgot to mention that Masterchef Guy, Garudan Ramasami!” her husband interrupted her midway.

The overnight celebrity couple have 2 children. Daughter Shruthi who is married and settled in Bangalore and son Akshay, pursuing his Masters in US.

We miss our kids on this wonderful occasion they added and were pretty excited when quizzed about “Guinness book of World Records” who had contacted them a few hours back, to accept Chitra’s feat as an entry.

Meanwhile, few Amma supporters landed at Mr. Srinivasan’s house to check if ‘Amma’s blessings’ had anything to do with the feat.
