Bengaluru. Mumbai Indians thumped RCB by six runs at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday. But the drama that the last ball carried with it enraged RCB players and its skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who was fuming after the replay was flashed at the Chinnaswamy, said, “We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call in the last ball. Umpire S Ravi msised calling out a big no-ball from Malinga and that gave the match away to MI.
However, umpire S Ravi’s misfortune or let’s say his ability to miss out calling an illegal thing has been noticed by the election commission. The election commission has been very lenient on the politicians, sometimes not even bothered if someone breaks the code of conduct in an election season. Election Commission in India is just like Dhritarashtra in Mahabharata.
And this is the ability they see in future employees before hiring them. S Ravi now has to decide whether to join EC full time or continue in the IPL. His pay package at the EC won’t be as heavy as the IPL one but then who doesn’t want a government job.
S Ravi’s parents are pretty happy with the news and they are trying to convince him that he should take up the EC job.
