BCCI assures Pant that Manjrekar will not take his post-match interview if he performs well and wins MoM award

Mumbai. India beat West Indies by 67 runs in the third and final Twenty20 International in Mumbai on Wednesday to clinch the three-match series 2-1. But disappointment for Pant continued as he was out on 0 and fans doubted his inclusion for future series.

BCCI meanwhile wants to address the root issue. There are rumors that many players are underperforming with the fear that if they win the MoM award they will have to give a post-match interview to Sanjay Manjrekar and that would be a low point in their career. BCCI has assured Pant and the team management that they will ask the broadcasters to allot some other commentator for the post-match interview.

Yesterday KL Rahul won the MoM award and took 15 minutes to reach Manjrekar during the post-match presentation. There were scenes where he was asking Rohit or Virat to go and give an interview to Manjrekar but both refused and so he had to finally go. BCCI has been told by the mental conditioning coach that players are underperforming due to the fear of talking to Sanjay.

Dada has noted this point and wants to bring a motion in the next AGM of BCCI to ban Sanjay from post-match presentations.
