Mumbai: In a shocking move, BCCI selection committee has included actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the Indian squad for the rest of the World Cup T20 currently taking place in India.

As per reports, this decision as taken by the selection committee after some of the selectors happened to see shooting of Dhoni’s biopic where Sushant is playing the role of Indian captain MS Dhoni.

Earlier, India lost their first match of the tournament to New Zealand and Indian batting was widely criticized by everyone. As per BCCI, Sushant’s selection will bolster the batting in addition to providing a reserve wicketkeeper in case Dhoni gets injured during the tournament.

ICC rules don’t allow for a change during the tournament but as per sources, BCCI had threatened to switch off flood lights during the next match in case their demand to add a player was not met by the ICC.

Speaking to Faking News, one of the selectors said, “We had just gone to watch the shooting of the film where we saw Sushant batting beautifully. He was definitely batting much better than any of our batsmen against New Zealand. In a moment of inspiration, I got the idea of including Sushant in the Indian team and other selectors agreed with my decision. I am feeling like Imran Khan taking people from outside first class cricket straight to the international cricket.”

“Our batting struggled during the match against New Zealand and a short T20 tournament doesn’t give you too many chanjces. We had to act quickly and decisively to strengthen our batting. Too much pressure has been placed on Kohli recently and we had to ease that. Surprising selection of Sushant will catch the bowlers unprepared as nobody has seen him bat”, the selector added.

When asked whether Sushant’s lack of experience will be a problem, the selector replied, “Bhai he not only played but coached in Kai Po Che and is playing again during Dhoni. He already has a career longer than Hardik Pandya or Jaspreet Bumrah. You didn’t ask us whether their lack of experience will be a problem. Why such double standards?”

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are hoping that they will represent India in wrestling during Rio Olympics.
