London. ICC came up with a bizarre rule to decide the winner of the 2019 Cricket ODI world cup in England. There was a lot of criticism for the ICC’s rule which gave the match to England as they had scored more boundaries. Most of the fans were not aware of the rule and even the commentators found it bit odd.
Sanjay Manjrekar was not even knowing that there would be a super over to decide a tie. But the final match saw great turnarounds and either side produced brilliant cricket which made a mockery of the ICC rules in the end.
ICC called an emergency meeting today and took an important decision that a number of Instagram followers will decide the winner in 2020 T20 world cup. ICC is sure that just like the 2019 cricket world cup, the T20 version in 2020 will throw some major challenges in terms of deciding a winner in case of a tied match.
So it’s important to decide the rule right now so that teams can prepare for the same. The teams have ample time to increase their followers on Instagram and they should take help of a social media coach too. Indian team currently sits at top of the pile but will have to up its insta game to compete with the other teams who are likely to grow given this exciting rule.
