Dinesh Karthik looking for an alternate career, applies for a Lok Sabha ticket

Chennai: Left out of the ongoing ODI series against Australia, and looking at the revival of Dhoni’s form and arrival of Vijay Shankar, Wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has started looking for alternate careers.

With World Cup spot all but gone, Karthik has started looking at the Lok Sabha elections and is applying for a ticket from Tamil Nadu.

Dinesh Karthik has sent a ticket request to every political party in the state and will join whichever party gives him the ticket first. Karthik was quite confident of making this World Cup having missed out on the previous 2 occasions (he did go as a tourist in 2007, as did the entire squad) but the probability of him making it to England has reduced drastically over the past few weeks.

Speaking to Faking News, a close aide of Karthik said, “Last year we were 100% sure that DK will be on the flight to England but then Dhoni started hitting full tosses for runs again and the probability reduced a little. Then that idiot Pandya got himself a temporary ban giving an opportunity to Shankar and now everyone wants to take Shankar to the World Cup. Jadhav has to go because of his right arm under the wicket action, Jadeja will go because he is the only one who can field, so it comes down to DK and Rayudu.”

“Rayudu’s bowling ban has reduced his chances as well but then, he can bribe everyone with Hyderabadi Biryani, something not in the arsenal of DK. So it is a practical thing to look for an alternate career and politics seems very attractive at the moment so it is worth a shot”, he added.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal has asked DK to start his own party and then join an alliance with Aaam Aadmi Party. “Koi to gathbandhan kare”, the Delhi Chief Minister said.
