Cricketer Hardik Pandya, who’s recent comment on comparison between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar got media in a frenzy, today revealed that he’d be constructing a colossal statue of the Indian captain in Gujarat.
The cricketer made a passing mention about ‘building a statue’ at a team party in Australia. But yesterday he made it official while speaking to a group of reporters.
While speaking to media persons he said that he is through with the deal for purchase of land and the architect has finalized the design for the statue.
Pandya was his characteristic self and in an conversation laced with innuendos, said, “This will be my biggest erection yet (chuckle). For me Kohli is the best. There is no one in the history of Indian cricket who can come closer to him and this statue will always serve as a reminder of his greatness. A lot of you guys might feel that I am being a sycophant, but that’s not true. Kohli was and will always be great for me.”
Sources say that Pandya got a bit emotional while chatting and even expressed a desire to be reborn as Anushka Sharma in his next life so that he could get married to Kohli.
Responding to Pandya’s gesture Kohli said that he was overwhelmed and Hardik was like the brother he never had. “He always has my back. When team players were making excuses to accompany me to watch Zero, Hardik pitched in. In fact he offered to buy all the available tickets for the weekend in spite of it being a terrible movie. When Manyavar sales were dropping, Hardik bought all their kurtas even though he looks terrible in them. And now this statue, I don’t think I’d ever be able to reciprocate,” said Kohli.
