Bengaluru: The 2nd test match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy may have finished on the 4th day but the fans will still have plenty to look forward to on the scheduled 5th day of the test match. Indian captain Virat Kohli and his Australian counterpart Steve Smith are set to take part in a sledging match at the Chinnaswamy stadium. This match is being organised for the fans who felt robbed after the match ended on the 4th day itself.

Kohli vs Smith

Throughout the 2nd test, Kohli and Smith had a go at each other and it got very heated at times. Things came to a head during the 2nd innings of Australia when Smith tried to check with the dressing room whether he should take a review or not. An angry Kohli gave him an earful and umpires had to calm Kohli down while sending Smith on his way.

“The fans will get their money worth, Kohli and Smith will get a chance to settle their differences, so it is a good idea for everyone. It will be very similar to the rap battles you see. Both the guys will get on a stage and shout out their best insults and comebacks. The umpires and the match referees will judge this sledging contest. There will be points for witty comments and innovative sledging while there will be negative marking for abusive sledging”, an ICC official said.

Further, he added ,”Needless to say, Ravi Shastri will be our guy hosting this match. Both Kohli and Smith can bring one deputy along who will take over if either of the two guys feel tired or need a break or need to go to the restroom.”

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was checking with the officials whether they will deduct points for Hindi and Punjabi abuses too.
