South African spinner Imran Tahir is a special talent. The 40-year-old Pakistan-born spinner has a unique run-up and bowling style. So does his style of wicket celebration. He runs such a long distance every time he takes a wicket.
Now that it is a lockdown period, Imran has been playing the EA Sports game in cricket but his habits have not changed. He took a wicket in the game and came running out of his house and kept running for around 2-3 kms. It was only after the authorities stopped him and reminded him about the lockdown rules that he went back to his home.
There are so many memes made on Imran’s sprints over these years, be it IPL or international cricket. There are times where the time taken by Imran to bowl one over is less than the time taken by him in sprinting after taking one wicket. In the 2019 world cup, so many sprints were witnesses by the audience.
It was the start of the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. South African spinner Imran Tahir became the first spinner to bowl the opening over of a World Cup joining illustrious names like Andy Roberts, Richard Hadlee, and Shaun Pollock.
