Mumbai. After having achieved more than what they had set out for, Indian team today announced its retirement from all formats of the game against Sri Lanka.

The decision was taken mili-seconds after the Indian team drove home in the final match of the Celkon Mobile Cup, thanks to a last gear acceleration by MS Dhoni.

Body language of Indian cricketers during such matches betrayed their feelings and the BCCI could no longer ignore endless India-Sri Lanka matches

It was umpteenth time India was playing against their amma-rivals arch-rivals Sri Lanka and the Indian team management was relying heavily on Dhoni to once again drag and delay this last game to make it needlessly tense, exciting, and memorable for the viewers and fans, who have been losing interest in India-Sri Lanka matches faster than rupee losing its value against dollar.

“We realized that we had reached the climax and there was no point in playing anymore India-Sri Lanka matches. Even Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi came to an end, so this too had too,” BCCI spokesperson Rajeev Shukla explained why India announced the retirement.

Sources confirm that everyone was happy with the decision.

“Even Ravi Shastri was getting bored repeating the same ‘tracer bullet’, and ‘down to the wire’ phrases and wanted some new faces where he could punch these phrases on,” a source told Faking News.

However, back in India, Sachin Tendulkar is reported to be saddened by this decision. “How could they announce retirement from any form of Cricket without giving me a ride on their shoulders?” Sachin is reported to be thinking.

“I think these matches easily had at least two years of boredom left in them,” wrote a cricket critic in his column lamenting the end of India-Sri Lanka matches.

But fans are not complaining, and the Indian team too is happy.

“I am glad that these matches are over otherwise my marriage would have been. Come to think of it, over the last couple of years, I have seen Jayawardene’s face more than Sakshi’s. Though he is Mahela but that’s no compensation for my wife,” Dhoni gave his comments just when this report was about to be published.
