Jaipur: A day after Rajasthan Royals bought the Indian ‘fast bowler’ for 8.4 Crores during the IPL auction, Jaydev Unadkat has insisted that he should be paid the cash upfront before the IPL begins. As per sources, Unadkat isn’t sure he will be paid after his performances during the tournament so he wants surety of his payment.
Unadkat was bought by Rajasthan Royals last year as well, for a much higher fees of 11.5 Crores. Even though that payment was cleared despite Unadkat’s performances, he is not willing to risk it for the second year in a row.
Speaking to Faking News, a close aide of Unadkat said, “We honestly don’t know why they bought him for that amount but now that they have, we insist on advance payment before the tournament begins. You know people come up with all sorts of excuses to delay payment later on and we want to avoid that.”
“Someone may say they bid for a fast bowler, Unadkat is a spinner so we won’t pay. Someone may say they bid for performances and there were no performances so we won’t pay, all these things can crop up later on. They anyway have to pay as per the contract so just pay it in advance. If they are worried about losing 2 months of interest on that amount, they can deduct it and make the payment,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals management was discussing whether they can claim they misheard the name while bidding.
