Lodha Panel recommends a separate captain for DRS reviews

Bengaluru: Determined to improve every aspect of Indian cricket, Lodha Panel has now recommended that the Indian Cricket Team should have a separate captain for DRS reviews. Captain Virat Kohli hasn’t used the reviews very judiciously so far and the panel believes he has proved be worse than Kamaal R Khan when it comes to reviewing.

According to Lodha Panel, India is unable to dominate Australia only because of their poor use of DRS. BCCI’s higly qualified core committee had presented various solutions to Lodha panel to overcome this problem. Historian Ramchandra Guha suggested that historic captains like MS Dhoni or Kapil Dev must come back to the Indian team. Ex-CAG Vinod Rai proposed that Virat Kohli’s fees should be deducted by 25% every time he wastes a review. These type of suggestions couldn’t be implemented and hence, they were deemed impractical.

Finally, Justice R M Lodha himself suggested that there should be two captains in the team. One for regular decisions and one for DRS. There were many names considered for the position for DRS Captain, excluding Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin, as they have been really bad at it in the past. At last, Sir Ravindra Jadeja was selected as the DRS Captain as all the team members already respect him a lot by addressing him as ‘Sir.’

“Virat is a brilliant batsman but the same cannot be said about his decision making ability when it comes to DRS. We have all noticed that he is taking wrong reviews more often than not. Virat with DRS is becoming as careless as Salman Khan with a steering wheel”, Justice Lodha explained the problem while speaking to our reporter

Our sources informed that Lodha Panel is coming up with more recommendations for Indian cricket team. Some of them include – Wearing formal clothes on Mondays even while playing a match, and having multiple wicket-keepers in a team so that they are not tired.
