Mohali. Rajasthan Royals left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat was expensive against Kings XI Punjab. Unadkat conceded 48 runs in his quota of four overs as Chris Gayle and later KL Rahul took a liking to him. He picked up merely one wicket and that of Rahul for 52 off 47 balls. Unadkat has been quite an expensive bowler literally as well as figuratively. And that has caused all teams to come forward and make a mahagathbandhan.
All team owners and captains have decided that they will give 2 Crs each to Jaydev Unadkat to withdraw his name from next year’s auction. The transfer will be done directly to Unadkat’s account and he will not have the trouble to personally come and collect the cheque. Actually, it was the Rajasthan owners who started this campaign.
They informed all the other teams that they won’t buy Unadkat. The other team owners were in worry as they thought that they will land up buying Unadkat by mistake somehow. So all teams came forward and decided to form a mahagathbandhan to keep Unadkat out of the auctions.
It is to be seen whether or not Jaydev accepts the offer as he would think that he will again sell for a huge price just like last two years. It’s a tough decision to make.
