New Delhi: After the closely fought 1st Test which raised expectations, Indian team returned to ground with a resounding innings defeat in the second Test at Lords raising fears of a 5-0 whitewash. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken note of this performance and has sent his trusted Lieutenant Amit Shah to Nottingham to divide the English team ahead of the 3rd Test at Nottingham. As per experts, a divided English team will offer India their best chance of success and an opportunity to get back in the series.
As per a PMO source, PM Modi really sympathize with Virat Kohli since he has a lot of experience of leading a team with only 2-3 capable people. He further understands that in international cricket, you don’t always get to face opponents like Rahul Gandhi. Therefore, he has decided that he will do whatever he can to make sure India does well in the remaining 3 Tests of the tour.
While opposition has cried foul and accused BJP of using Cricket for their own politics, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “If India loses big during the series then the same opposition will say that Indian Cricket is under-performing during PM Modi’s rule. Now if he is doing something to support the cricket team then they also have a problem. Our motto is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and that includes our Cricket team. Best mode of development is to break the opposition unity and having practiced that all over India, now Amit Shah Ji will try the same in England.”
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala was quick to point out that India won a Test series in England under PM Manmohan Singh while it is suffering badly under the tenure of PM Modi.
As per sources, Amit Shah has already asked Virat Kohli whether he wants Sam Curran or Chris Woakes to join the Indian side during the 3rd Test.
