New Delhi: After making several populist promises ahead of recent assembly elections that helped them form government in 3 states ahead of BJP, Congress has shown it is not going to stop by making another massive promise in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections in 2019.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has promised that he will remove KL Rahul from Indian Test team if he becomes the Prime Minister in place of Narendra Modi after the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at an event in Delhi, Mr. Gandhi said,”Narendra Modi doesn’t understand the pain of the common people of this country and right now the biggest cause of their suffering is Indian opening pair. He is not doing anything to address that problem and bring relief to the hundreds of millions of Indian Cricket fans. But let me assure you, on day 1 of our government in center, we will remove KL Rahul from that opening spot along with all his tattoos.”

“Recently I went to a college in Delhi where I promised them that I will waive off their education loan and they said, forget loans boss, we will pay that somehow, just give us another opening batsman. This is the sort of feedback you get from the ground and then you see the government do nothing about it. It is because Mr. Modi lives in his own bubble cut off from the hardships faced by Indians,” the Congress President said attacking the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has labeled Rahul Gandhi “anti-South Indians” for talking ill of the Indian opening combination, both of whom come from the southern part of India.

Over in Australia, KL Rahul has defended his performance during the Perth Test by saying that he has scored twice as many runs as Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami combined!
