Mohali. MS Dhoni has been a constant presence in the Indian dressing room for the past 14 years, at least in the limited overs set-up. But as happy as that makes the fans, it has created problems for the wicketkeeping community in India. So many wicketkeepers had to retire and many are on the verge of retirement due to Dhoni’s reluctance in vacating his place.
Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are the latest in that list and Dhoni is surely going to eat up their careers. Selectors have full faith in Dhoni’s skills. Pant and Karthik’s parents are now putting pressure on them to fill up railway employment forms and get a permanent job in the railways.
Railway exam is also tough and both keepers will have to work hard to crack it. They have collected the syllabus and the preparation material and there are chances that they might well as clear the exams in 2 years time.
Meanwhile, if Dhoni retires in these 2 years then both will have to compete to fill the vacant position left by MSD.
