He might be just 15 shy of Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI hundreds, but the legend wants Virat Kohli to keep going and score hundreds regularly. Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar wrote: “Stepping out on the field and scoring centuries has become a regularity for @imVkohli. Congratulations on your 34th ODI ton! Keep the runs flowing always. #INDvsSA.”. Though this was a very sporting gesture, it din’t go down well with the fans of the legend. Sachin fans were seen protesting outside Sachin’s house in Mumbai against the master blaster’s tweet.
It was yet another show of exquisite batsmanship from Virat Kohli as he hit his 34th ODI ton, scoring an unbeaten 160, but Sachin fans still believe that no one can be greater than Sachin Tendulkar. On a news debate with a reputed anchor, a fan was heard saying that Kohli has not taken many wickets in ODIs and Sachin had 156 wickets so Sachin is by far the greatest cricketer. One of the fans also said that Sachin scored all those runs without getting a tatto like Virat and not following a strict fitness regime like the little master.
Sachin’s fans hope that Sachin should also support them in the quest to defeat kohli’s fan in the debate of who is a greater batsman. And Sachin’s repeated congratulatory tweets for Kohli is seen as a backstabbing incident by his own fans. A large number of fans gathered outside his house and were seen shouting slogans against him for praising Kohli. According to the fans no one, including Sachin himself should praise Kohli after any match. Sachin has promised his fans that he will tweet less from now onwards and never ask Kohli to keep on scoring the way he is currently.
