Set for a return in Indore, Gambhir requests BCCI and Lodha committee to fight after that Test match

Indore: As the ongoing tussle between Lodha committee and BCCI continues over the recommendations made by Lodha committee, some speculation has started that the 3rd test of the India-New Zealand series may not happen at all. As this rumour grew in strength, returning Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has requested the two parties to pause their fight for a week.

“Ladna band karo oye”

BCCI President Anurag Thakur has claimed that there is no money after Lodha panel ordered a freeze of their bank accounts. However, Lodha Panel has clarified that they have not stopped the funds for BCCI’s routine expenses. All this fighting has made returning Indian opener Gautam Gambhir very anxious about the fate of the 3rd test.

Many believed that Gambhir’s career is over but a good showing in domestic cricket, plus the injuries to KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan have almost made Gambhir a certainty for the next test match. However, just when Gambhir was getting ready to take the field again, this fight between BCCI and Lodha committee has thrown the test match’s future into jeopardy.

“I am sure that both parties have their grievances and they want to resolve them before moving forward. Just that, they can pause this for a week and resume it once the test match begins. I have waited so long to play test cricket again, I have worked so hard to get back in. Now I hear that someone may pull the plug on this series? Come on man, please don’t do it”, Gambhir said.

Furthermore, he added, “BCCI isn’t going anywhere, SC isn’t going anywhere, Cricket isn’t going anywhere, just wait for one test match and continue your arguments and recommendations after that. I feel that this is my best chance to get back in, I can’t rely on Boult injuring Dhawan all the time.”

Meanwhile, our reporter overheard Virat Kohli telling Karun Nair to be ready to open during the next test match.
