Bengaluru: Moments after the thrilling IPL contest between RCB and CSK, RCB captain Virat Kohli sent an SMS to Chief Selector MSK Prasad thanking him for excluding Umesh Yadav from the World Cup squad.

The World Cup is scheduled to held in England during the months of June and July, and the Indian squad for the same was selected last week.

Umesh Yadav, entrusted with the defense of 26 runs in the last over, nearly lost the game before Parthiv Patel got a direct hit run out of the last ball to win it for RCB by 1 run. After the game, someone asked Umesh how many runs he needs in the last over to defend comfortably and the Indian pacer said that anything above 100 can be defended confidently.

When we asked Virat Kohli about the message that leaked just like every BCCI correspondence, he said ,”Well I was just thanking the selector for doing a good job with the selection. We don’t want to end up in a situation in the World Cup where we are defending 50 from the last over and only Umesh is the one left with the overs. It would be a shame to lose like that so it is good that I will have other options there.”

“Captaining RCB has wreaked havoc with my health. Years of intense physical training, all down the drain after captaining these people for a month, I ended up with Blood Pressure problems anyway. I want to see as few RCB players as possible in England. Chahal is ok, he is so tiny that I barely see him but I am really thankful that the rest will not be in my side”, the Indian captain added.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has already started checking good vacation deals for the summer of 2023 after looking at Dhoni’s recent form.
