Washington Sundar does not have my NRC documents: MSK Prasad rejects rumours about Sundar’s selection for NZ series

Mumbai. India have recalled explosive opener, Rohit Sharma, to their star-studded Twenty20 squad for the five-match series against the Black Caps starting next Friday. But the major surprise was the inclusion of Washington Sundar in the team.

Washington has been given a chance for quite some time now but hasn’t had the type of impact which team India wants from him. And that was the reason that there were many rumors about him having MSK Prasad’s NRC documents. But MSK has clarified in today’s press briefing that it is not the case and Washington has been purely selected on merit.

According to MSK, the team wants to give Sundar some more chances so that he can prove himself. MSK has famously left out many in form players in the past to pick average players. But he was saved from the NRC rumors as there was no CAA or NRC declaration by the government during that time.

But times have changed now and many people do believe that the only reason Washington gets so many chances in the Indian team is that he either has the NRC documents of MSK, Ravi Shastri, or Virat Kohli.
