This is how the required run-rate rises when you bat: Selectors show Chandrayaan launch to Dhoni

Mumbai. A week after the Chandrayaan-2 lift-off was aborted due to a technical snag, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched India’s second mission to the Moon at 2.43 pm today.

MSK Prasad led team of selectors have a tough time deciding on the future of MS Dhoni. They have already said that they feel powerless in this regard and it is Dhoni’s call now to decide when should he retire. Selectors found an innovative way to show him how his batting is having a  negative impact on the team, by showing him the launch video of the Chandrayaan2.

MSK Prasad and team had discussed it yesterday that they will be live-streaming the Chandrayaan launch video to Dhoni’s phone and then once he saw the video have a chat with him. The selectors explained to Dhoni that the required run rate increases at the pace at which the space vehicle was launched. This has been happening since last 2-3 years. Whenever India is chasing a big total, they expect shotmakers like Dhoni to up the ante and relieve pressure on other pressures, but the case has been opposite for Mahi as he is taking too long to settle down.

The ball is in Dhoni’s court to understand the problem faced by the selectors. The selectors will also show the Chandrayaan’s failure to launch at the first instance video to Vijay Shankar. The reason is obvious.
