Imran Khan’s govt has broken all records in borrowing money and the beaming Wazir-e-Azam did not hold back from patting his back on the global recognition. Since coming to power, Imran’s govt has amassed more than Rs 7000 bn in debt, which has broken all previous records of borrowings.

While speaking to media persons at his party headquarters, Imran said, “This is a proud moment for every citizen of this country. Pak has always been vilified in the international media. We never make it to the top of any list. All that has changed in the Naya Pakistan that I promised to all of you. We will keep breaking such records and Insha-allah one day on top of the world.”

When one reporter pointed out that being in debt was not something to be proud about, Imran cut him short with — Tu chhup oye. Kitni mehnat se maqam haasil kiya hai. I won’t let you ruin this moment for us with your pessimism- while signalling his party workers to escort the reporter out of the room.

While speaking on the recognition, Imran got a bit nostalgic and reminisced about his 92 World Cup victory moment. “It’s been a long time since I felt like this. This feeling of bringing glory to Pakistani is so overwhelming. Give me a bigger begging bowl and I will triple this debt in just a few months,” he said amidst cheers from his supporters.
